Entrepreneur in the field of innovation for over fifteen years, Pietro Azzara started out as an electronic engineer; after finishing his studies, he began working in Spain, Portugal and the Czech Republic, approaching international projects in the field of IT. 

In 2002, he moved back to Italy where he founded Azatec: System Integrator and Cloud Managed Service Provider, of which he is currently CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.  In the meanwhile, realising its future potential, he co-founded and invested in digital marketing and digital events companies. 

Around 2017, he became passionate about Crytpto and Blockchain and decided to found Blockchain Italia, a software house and training, services and consulting company in the Blockchain field. 

It was Blockchain Italia that gave birth to Dedit.io, a platform for notarisation, winner of the Chambers of Commerce Top of The PID award, and Italianwonders, the Tokenisation platform for the art world and NFT Marketplace. 

In July 2018, Pietro founded Blockchain Forum Italia; the first Italian trade fair of the sector, which opened its doors for the first time on 7 November 2018. 

In January 2019 he was elected President of Italia4Blockchain, the main Italian trade association for the study, promotion and diffusion of Blockchain technology. In August of the same year he is included in the “Top 100 FinTech Leaders and influencers in Italy” list and in January 2020 in Startup Italia’s TOP Blockchain Influencers list. 

In September 2020 IBNO – the Italian Blockchain Observatory – was then founded, of which Pietro is one of the founding members. 

He is also a member of the working group on education and public administration within the INATBA association, set up by the European Commission, a founding member and member of the board of presidency of the Italian Alliance of Digital SMEs, a member of the Task Force on Blockchain of the European Alliance of Digital SMEs and vice-president of Confassociazioni Digital with delegation to Blockchain.

He has been a speaker at various conferences and events, including international ones, such as the 29th edition of the Krynica Economic Forum and the XXXth edition of the Karpacz Forum.

He is a lecturer in the Blockchain Innovation Manager training courses promoted by Italia4blockchain and has taught in numerous university courses and private master courses on innovation, cybersecurity, industry 4.0.
